For a man whom everyone thinks stands no chance against his opponent, Shane Mosley seems pretty confident.
Confident enough to predict that he will actually knock Manny Pacquiao out in their Las Vegas bout on May 7.
“Yeah, I think I’m going to knock him out,” Mosley said. “I don’t know what round it’s going to be in. But it will come in the first round that I can catch him squarely on the chin.”
Mosley has been training in the mountains of Southern California (reminiscent of Rocky Balboa's training session in Rocky IV) and the 39-year-old puncher has said more than once that he will shock the world when he defeats Manny Pacquiao.
Mosley said Pacquiao has never faced a fast, furious and heavy-hitter like him and that this will lead to his defeat. Because when Pacquiao goes toe-to-toe with him, that's when Mosley intends to unload his haymaker.
Mosley also said that winning on points is not what he is after.
“A victory, for me, would be to actually knock him out, not just going the distance with him and winning, but it would be my goal to knock him out,” said Mosley.
