SO I WAS WRONG ABOUT THE SUNS...

Yeah, I thought they would win Game 5. (didn't happen)

Thought Amare and Nash would have double doubles (Amare responded with a weak double-double while Nash failed to even come close while making three crucial turnovers in the last few minutes or so.)

Diaw started out hot and strong then faded in the late going. But then again, the Suns weren't really expecting Diaw to be the go-to guy, were they? That was supposed to be the arrogrant Amare, he who wouldn't even vote for Nash as the league MVP.

Maybe this is the way it should have worked out for the Suns. For Shaq to realize how good it was to have cold blooded, ball hogging Kobe on his side, for childish Amare to realize he isn't a bonafide star yet, for play-his-heart-out Nash to realize the window HAS closed (which makes me really sad) and for Marion to realize what an idiot he was.

So let's move on to he Hornets versus the Spurs. That shold be a doozy.

WILL THE SUNS WIN GAME 5?

We've all heard it.

Shaq doesn't fit the Suns' truly effective run-and-gun game. (true)

Amare is a selfish, bigheaded, childish pseudo-star (again, true)

Steve Nash is getting old (correct again)

Grant Hill is gimpy (yep)

Raja Bell is nothing but a younger Bruce Bowen (weirdly so)

Diaw is a hard foul away from a disappearing act (check)

Barbosa has no defense and, as of this week, little offense (oh why do we even go on?!)

So should we just show the Spurs the door to the second round and spare everyone the sweat and agony?
Now wait just a cotton-pickin minute.

I think the old, gimpy, ill fitting Suns might just give good old TD, Manu and Mr. Longoria quite a scare before fading off into the...well...the sunset.

Why? Coz the Suns got themselves a win. They proved that it could be done. They saw a Spurs team that they could beat. And, just like Atlanta beating up on Boston for the second game in a row, the Suns are just itching to do it again.

So don't write off the Suns yet. I think Shaq might actually come back to life in Game 5. Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire could be logging in double doubles yet. And Mike D'Antoni might actually have a job for a few more days.

Now Game 6 is an entirely different proposition altogether.

THE SPORTSTER COMETH

It is entirely the wrong time to start a sports blog.

The NBA playoffs have already started, with some first round matchups already over.

The MLB has started but isn't significant yet.

The NFL just held its draft but no one in the Philippines really cares about that.

The NHL just...wait, is the NHL still alive?

Anyways, I'm starting this sports blog for the same reason any other sports fanatic starts one...because I'm an stubborn, opinionated jackass who wrote and complained about sports better than he ever played it.

So there.
