Did Elton Brand "Boozer" the Clips?

If you scroll down this blog, you'll find an entry where I detailed the Elton Brand-Clippers/Baron Davis-Warriors saga.

My prediction, at that point in time, was that Brand would leave the Clippers for the Warriors (and for more money). After all, loyalty does not exist in the NBA anymore (except, again, for my favorite Argentinian, the manic Nocioni).

A few days ago, Brand sealed a deal with the Philadelphia Sixers, bringing the increasingly hostile and bitter media war between him and the Clippers to even greater heights.

The Clippers claim Brand agreed in principle to return to the Clips for a little less money (about 8Million less than the max amount) in return for Baron Davis. Brand doesn't deny it. His agent claims no negotiations should have occurred without him present. He's right too.

But at the end, greed wins over honor. Enjoy the East, Mr. Brand. May Kevin Garnett, Chris Bosh, Rasheed Wallace and Dwight Howard make you wish you stayed in the West.

CAMBY GOES TO CLIPPERS FOR NOTHING!

What the bejeezus just happened?

How do you get the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year, one of the best interior defenders, shot blockers and rebounders in the league, a lithe center with a midrange shot for basically nothing?

All the Nuggets have to show for this insane trade is the OPTION TO SWAP SECOND ROUND PICKS in 2010! Not even first round picks?

Have the Nuggets gone nuts? At least get something in return! How about Ruben Patterson? Or Quinton Ross, fer Gawd's sake?

Methinks this is a case for the Commissioner's Office. I have nothing against the Nuggets or the Clippers but this is just too much.
