Another Guirado For The Azkals?

In the win-or-die match against Bangaldesh, the Azkals discovered a bright new shining star in attacking midfielder Angel Guirado. Soon, we may be featuring not one but two Guirados.

The Azkals have targeted Juan Luis Guirado, a midfielder who plays for Lermeno of Burgos in Spain's Division III, as a player who can potentially increase the Azkals chances of moving up in the World Cup qualifiers.

Juan Luis is 31years old and is the older brother of Angel. Team manager Dan Palami is hoping to convince  the elder Guirado to play for the Azkals, who can use his field experience and savvy against Sri lanka and, in case the Azkals move on, Kuwait.

Rafael Garcia, a  cousin of the Guirado brothers, said Juan has commitments in Spain which he is trying to put in order before he can commit to the Azkals.

“There’s a 50-50 chance he would make himself available for the Azkals tryouts,” said Garcia who coordinates with the Azkals officials. “We have given him (Juan) until the end of April to process his passport in Madrid. But if he couldn’t do it, then that means he could not join.”
