Jeson Patrombon had to shake off some rust in the first set before finally settling down and dominating his American opponent, Emmet Egger in the 17th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup Tennis Championship in Kuching, Malaysia.
Patrombon scored a difficult 7-6(5), 6-2 victory over Egger. He faces Australian Nick Kyrgios in the third round.
With the way Patrombon has been playing, I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on to the finals of this tournament. He's grown stronger mentally and seems very focused.
Here's hoping he brings home the cup!
