In boxing, you win by your fists, not by your words.
And Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto certainly proved it against the mouthy Nicaraguan, Ricardo Mayorga, who gave up in the 12th round of their championship fight last Saturday.
Mayorga spent the last 2 weeks before the fight, badmouthing Cotto, boasting of how bad a beating he was going to deal Cotto and saying Cotto was "gay" (as if that would have anything to do with boxing).
So Cotto took the the ring, fought a methodical fight then floored Mayorga in the 12th round. Mayorga, showing his true colors, quit.
So there will be no Pacquiao-Mayorga fight, simply because Mayorga wasn't good enough. He wasn't even good enough to beat Mayweather's badmouthing of Pacquiao.
Truly a shame that boxing should be sullied by "fighters" like Mayorga and Mayweather.
