Gilas Takes On Al-Jala'a for Ssemis Seat!

One win is all that stands between Smart Gilas and its highest finish yet in the FIBA-Asia Champions Cup in more than a decade.

Gilas emerged as the top seed in Group A after sweeping the group, beating Saudi Arabia's Al Ittihad, Malaysia's KL Dragons, Iraq's Duhok and finally Jordan's ASU.

Al-Jala'a, on the other hand, is the fourth seed in group B, going down in defeat to Lebanon's Al Riyadi, Iran's Mahram and Qatar's Al-Rayyan.

The difference in their seeding is misleading as Al-Jala'a has beaten Smart Gilas twice in the past two years. However, the Filipinos are playing in front of their home crowd and peaking at the right time so all indications are for the Filipinos to forge ahead.

MY FEARLESS FORECAST: Smart Gilas wins 92-80.
