Dan Palami To Sue Weiler?

Seems like the Azkals are starting to bite back.

Azkals manager Dan Palami is said to be considering filing charges against German Paul Weiler, who has been alleging that Azkal players Neil Etheridge, Simon Greatwich, Jason Sabio and Anton del Rosario raped a woman in Palami's house.

While no charges have yet been brought against the Azkals, the online media community is buzzing with conspiracy theories and counter-accusations.

Charges may finally be filed but it might be against Weiler.

Kobe, CP3, Tyreke Evans To Play Against Gilas And The PBA!

Can you believe this?

Nope, neither can I. But it seems like every Filipino basketball fanatic's dream has just come true. NBA superstars Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Tyreke Evans and several others will be coming to the fabled Big Dome to take on the Gilas Nationals and a PBA selection.

This game would be definitely be a historic one for the the Pinoy basketball fan and I, for one, intend to be there!

Azkal Rape Victim Finally Surfacing?

The issue is getting hotter as a fashion model who is one of FHM's Premiere Vixens has reportedly been pulled out of the Vixens show because of her involvement in the Azkals supposed rape case.

Amanda Coling (view her profile and statements here) has been understandably upset that she has been pulled out of a show for which she has invested time and effort after TV stations linked her to the rumored Azkal rape case.

I'm very interested in what Miss Coling has to say. It seems to me like we can finally shed some light on this issue.

Kobe Bryant And UAAP All Stars Lose To Gilas!

Kobe Bryant gave Filipino fans something else to roar about as he joined a group of collegiate stars from the UAAP in a friendly scrimmage against members of the Gilas National Team.

After the first 10minute game between the two squads that ended with Gilas on top 33-24, Bryant asked if he could play for about 8minutes.

The NBA champion then kept the UAAP Allstars in the thick of the fight with timely steals, nifty assists and rimrattling dunks but clutch baskets from Mark Barroca and Macmac Baracael sealed the win for Gilas 45-41.

US Women Barge Into Women's World Cup Finals!

And the US heroics continue!

Lauren Cheney, Abby Wambach and substitute Alex Morgan all hit the back of the net in spectacular fashion to tow the nicknamed "Team of Destiny" to the Women's World Cup Finals.

Lauren Cheney started the Americans off with a goal in the 9th minute but France dominated the next 50 minute of play to even the score with a Sonia Bombastor goal.

Abby Wambach proved to be the US savior once again as she headed home the game winning goal in the 79th minute before pretty substitute Alex Morgan added an insurance goal 3 minutes later.

Gilas Aiming For A Medal!

Anything less than a medal would be a disappointment. So says Gilas Coach Rajko Toroman, who believes his wards have the capability to not only get a medal but also to snare an outright Olympic slot in the upcoming FIBA-Asia Men's Championship.

But for Gilas to earn that medal, they have to get past Asian juggernauts like China, South Korea, Japan, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon and Qatar.

Suzuki To Back U-23 SEAG Team!

Azkal fever may be all the rage but true soccer, like Suzuki, already have their eyes on the future.

In another bold move by the motor company, Suzuki has offered to sponsor the Philippines' U-23 Football Team in their quest to win a medal in the upcoming SEA Games.

Suzuki was also the sponsor of the U-23 National Championships, where most of the members of the national U-23 team was picked.

Prodigal Son Jason De jong Returns To Azkals!

The last time we saw Jason De Jong, he was getting fired by his club.

Since then, the Azkal has been trining in the Netherlands, trying to keep in shape both physically and mentally.

Now, he has returned to the Azkals in their time of need, cap in hand, apologies on his lips and willing to sacrifice for the team.

And if there was a time that we needed a young, energetic, physical and experienced defender, now would be that time. With Ally Borromeo and Stephan Shrock out of commission for the Kuwait match, Jason De Jong's hulking presence in would be more than appreciated.

Let me be the first to say that this rumor stinks, it's nasty and hurtful, it comes from an unreliable source and it reeks of jealousy.

But just so the Philippine sporting community is kept informed, here is the rumor.

A person named Paul Weiler is spreading the rumor that four members of the Philippine Azkals, namely goalkeeper Neil Etheridge, Anton del Rosario, Jason Sabio and Simon Greatwich have raped a girl in Azkals manager Dan Palami's house.

US Women Defeat Brazil And Enter World Cup Semifinals!

There were were too many bad calls, too much Marta. And yet, the US Women's football team proved, once again, that they were a team of destiny.

The US got an early lead when Brazil's Daiane conceded an own goal to the US. Marta then got to work, pressuring the US and scoring two goals in the second half. A spectacular last minute goal by Abby Wambach forced a penalty shoot out between the two teams and the US proved to be the steadier of the 2, netting 5 of their attempts against Brazil's three.

The US now go up against France in the semifinals.
