Negros Wins Over Iloilo 3-1 In Suzuki Cup U-23 PFF Championships!

It was an intense battle that proved to be all it was touted to be. Electrifying goals. Rabid defending. Physical challenges.

But in the end, it was Bacolod who came away a 3-1 winner over hosts Iloilo, courtesy of two Aldrin Dolino goals, one early in the game, and the other, in extra time.

It was a fierce battle throughout, with Iloilo paying the price as two of their men, including their goalkeeper, was sent off the pitch.

Iloilo must now beat Bacolod by three goals at the Panaad stadium, a tall order as the Bacolodnon's have given up just 5 goals during the entire tournament.

Granted, it was a publicity stunt.
And it was a right hook from a lefthanded Manny.

Heat Win Game 2!

When it came down to crunch time, Lebron James became Miami's savior. With both teams experiencing a scoring drought, James delivered 7 straight points then two more after 2 Wade freethrows in about 4 minutes to give the Heat an 11 point lead with 30seconds left in the game.

He was aided by the fact that Luol Deng, brilliant defensively and effective offensively in Game 1, was neither in Game 2. He made 2 crucial offensive mistakes (getting stripped by Mike Bibby on a one-one-one fastbreak play and getting stripped again on a drive to the hoop) and the same defensive mistake twice (going under the screen, allowing James to hit a threepointer and a long two).

It's Bacolod vs Iloilo in U-23 PFF Suzuki Cup!

It's a matchup made in football heaven and, barring a massive upset, one that Pinoy football experts expected to see.

It may be the close proximity of the cities. It may be the shared Ilonggo dialect, culture and heritage. It may be the shared football lineage and history. Whatever the reason may be, it sure will be fast anf furious when these Western Visayas teams meet on the pitch.

And being a true blue Bacolodnon, all I can say is...GO BACOLOD!

Finally, a glimmer of hope.

After the way Lebron James left Cleveland last year, it seemed like the Cavaliers were due for some good luck. They did get some, turning the LA Clippers first round pick that they got in the Baron Davis trade into a golden #1 pick.

The Clippers pick had 2.5 chances of being the top spot. But with Cavs' owner Dan Gibert's 14 year old son representing the franchise, Lady Luck smiled and the Cavs now get to choose who they will saddle with the "next LBJ" tag. Possible candidates are Kyrie irving of Duke and Derrick Williams of Arizona.
