US Women Defeat Brazil And Enter World Cup Semifinals!

There were were too many bad calls, too much Marta. And yet, the US Women's football team proved, once again, that they were a team of destiny.

The US got an early lead when Brazil's Daiane conceded an own goal to the US. Marta then got to work, pressuring the US and scoring two goals in the second half. A spectacular last minute goal by Abby Wambach forced a penalty shoot out between the two teams and the US proved to be the steadier of the 2, netting 5 of their attempts against Brazil's three.

The US now go up against France in the semifinals.

Here is Abby Wambach's great header to tie the score.
