Mahram Falls To Al-Riyadi, 76-73!

In the end, it came down to two superstars duking it out.

Fadi El-Khatib, the superb Lebanese superstar outgunned fellow superstar Samad Bahrami of Iran, leading Al-Riyadi of Lebanon to a 3 point win over defending champion Mahram of Iran.

El-Khatib score 25 points, including 3 straight jumpers in the last 2 mins while  Bahrami had 18 points, including a threepointer and 2 lay ups in the last 2 mins.

Al-Riyadi led by as many as 12 points with 6 mins left in the fourth quarter but Bahrami and import Chris Willaims joined forces to bring Mahram to within 1 point.

It was then that El-Khatib and Bahrami engaged each other in a shootout, with their teammates acting as their lookouts.

Ultimately, Lebanon won because El-Khatib made 2 foul shots while forcing the ball out of Bahrami's hands. The last ditch 3point heave by Cheik Smab was blocked by Loren Woods to end the Iranians' hopes.
