Joe Devance can finally release a sigh of relief.
The PBA Commissioner's Office has finally approved the Alaska-Air 21 trade that sends the explosive Fil-Am to the Express in exchange for Jay-R Reyes and 2 first round draft picks.
The original trade proposal was a one-for-one deal, Joe Devance straight up for Jay-R Reyes but it was rejected by the PBA for being one-sided in favor of the Express.
The two added first round draft picks are for 2011 and 2012.
But more than that, what raises red flags for me is that a 6'7" scorer has been dealt twice already in his young career. The first time was understandable, as he was dealt on draft day for another blue-chip rookie (Sol Mercado).
But this second trade is for a journeyman center who is roughly half the contributor that Devance is. What could be the team's reason for giving up on a young scoring stud?
