Forget the similarities of how their basketball careers have started. Both were highly touted high school prospects who were rumored to be going to US NCAA Division I colleges. Both represented the Philippines in the Youth Games. Both have impeccable basketball pedigree, being sons of outstanding PBA players.
Ravena versus Parks is a battle of styles. The much quicker Ravena is an acrobat, fearlessly slashing inside and creating space for lay ups and bank ins. The much bigger Parks is a straight up shooter, with a stop and pop move that seems to be his bread and butter.But more than that, it gives me hope for Philippine basketball. I haven't enjoyed collegiate play this much since I was in UP, rooting Ryan Gregorio and the Maroons.
