The Azkals played at almost full strength but that didn't matter much to the Bahrainis as they defeated the Azkals 3-1.
The Azkals matched the intensity of the Bahrainis but the Middle Eastern team still scored first, courtesy of a header off a perfect cross from a corner kick.
Bahrain struck again as another Azkal defensive lapse left goalkeeper Eduard Sacapano helpless from a rocket from the right side of the box.
The Azkals managed to strike back with the gorgeous header from (who else?) Chieffy Caligdong but Bahrain managed to add one more goal on a virtually open net right before time expires.
What we've learned from this pair of games is that we are definitely better both technically and offensively...but our defense is still our biggest and most glaring weakness.
Next up, Kuwait!
