It's got great goals, fantastic defense and a heart stopping finish.
But in the end, the ladies from Japan prevailed in the penalty shoot out over the USA to win the Women's World Cup.
Pretty Alex Morgan started the scoring off with a wonderful left footed shot before Aya Miyama equalized the score by tapping in a poorly cleared cross.
Abby Wambach played the role of hero once again as she headed in a-beginning-to-be-her-trademark-header-goal in extra time but Homare Sawa tied the score once again with just 2 minutes left in the game.
In the penalty shootout, Japan proved to be the steadier as Shannon Boxx's shot was kick saved, Carli Lloyd's sailed over the crossbar and Tobin Heath's was saved, giving Japan a 2-0 lead. Wambach made it 2-1 before Saki Kumagai sealed it for Japan.
Congratulations to Japan!
