Now that's volleyball, Bacolod-style.
Down by 2 sets to an opponent who has not lost a game yet, the Lady Stingers of the University of St. La Salle from Bacolod spiked, blocked and dug their way to a scintillating 5 set victory over the University of Perpetual Help volleybelles, 23-25, 14-25, 25-23, 25-23, 15-11.
Once again, it was former national youth team standout Patty Orendain who proved to be unstoppable, scoring 6 points in the final set, including the final smash that clinched the victory for USLS.
The Lady Stingers tied Perpetual Help's 3-1 record but succumbed to their opponents' superior quotient to land the number 2 spot in their group.
Perpetual Help had several opportunities to close out the match, including when they led the 3rd set 21-17 and when they led the fifth set 8-5.
