Jeson Patrombon, the country's heir apparent to Cecil Mamiit's throne as best active Pinoy netter, solidifies his stellar international reputation by barging into the quarterfinals of the Chang ITF/LTAT Junior Championships in Nonthaburi, Thailand.
Patrombon defeated Dutchman Paul Monteban 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
The #9 ranked Patrombon is actually the top seed in this tournament and will now face the fast improving Romanian Teodor Nicolae Marin, who sits at #58. Marin has had some stellar results in the past months and Petrombon is wary of getting caught unawares by the Romanian.
In the doubles event, Patronmbon and Kiwi partner Jaden Grinter disposed of Gao Xin (China!) and Wang Chiech-Fu (Taiwan!!) to move into the quarterfinals as well.
