WWE Champion Edge Retires!

The rivalries may be fake.
The rhetoric may be fake.
The action may be fake.
But the physical toll it takes on its practitioners is all too real.

WWE superstar and Heavyweight Champion Edge is the latest in a long line of wrestlers to retire from professional wrestling due to injury or illness.

Edge has been experiencing the symptoms of neuropraxia, which include numbness and uncontrollable trembling in his arms and hands.

One cause of Edge's current condition is the two-level spinal fusion procedure he endured in 2003. After being cleared to compete again, Edge suffered from stenosis of the spine or the narrowing of the spine. This narrowing limited the vital fluids protecting the spine which soon became evident in Edge's physical malady.

Doctors have ruled out any possibility that Edge could come back to wrestling, as further injuries to his spine could cause paralysis or even death.
