Mclaine firmly believes that the Pinoy women's pairs of Nerissa Bautista and Joveline Gonzalez (Pair A), Micmic Laborte and Aiza Maizo (Pair B), Pinoy men’s pairs Aly Tupas and Arnel Amadeo (Pair A) and Henry Pecante and Angelo Espiritu (Pair B) have what it takes to win berths for the London Olympics.
Their quest begins this April 20, when the teams compete in the Asia Pacific Batam Beach Volleyball tournament in Indonesia.
The tournament will feature some of the regions best volleyball teams, including pairs from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
The winners of this event get slots to the zonal competition, which offers 3 slots to the Asia Volleyball Confederation Cup. The AVC Cup winners then get to vie for 5 Olympic slots in the Continental Championships.
