Then it was a coterie of NBA journeymen and role players.
And then, it happened.
Much like Vince Hizon was pirated away by the MBA (playing for the Iloilo MegaVoltz), Josh Childress, formerly of the Hawks, was a certified player, a valuable asset to his team and a vital cog in the machinery.
And just like Hizon, Childress adhered to the most popular saying of all time...Money talks, (expletive here) walks.
But more than that, what is most evident about Childress signing with European powerhouse Olympiacos is that the Euroleague is now coming to its own.
It is no longer a training ground where second round picks develop their game. It is now the playground for NBA players seeking a different setting...from Jorge Garbajosa and Juan Carlos Navarro (whose priorities have always been the Spanish National Team) to Carlos Delfino (who wants more playing time) to Bostjan Nachbar and Josh Childress (who want more money).
The question now is, now that Childress has opened the door...who's gonna be next?
