Another tight game, another chance for a star to shine.
This game, that star was Dirk Nowitzki.
Playing awfully in the first 3 quarters due to the flu, Nowitzki managed to crank up the energy in the fourth and scored 10 of his 21 points in crunch time, including 3 beautiful drives past Udonis Haslem.
Down 65-74, the Mavs rattled off a 21-9 run that culminated with 2 Jason Terry freethrows with just 6 seconds left in the game.
Dwayne Wade fumbled the inbounds pass to Mike Miller then dove for the ball and flipped it back to avoid a backcourt violation. Miller caught the ball and then launched a desperation three over Chandler, which never even came close to the ring.
Shawn Marion scored 16 points, Jason Terry had 16 and Chandler turned in a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Mavs to victory.
The Heat were led by Dwayne Wade's 32 points and Chris Bosh's 24 points. Lebron James scored just 8 points but had 9 rebounds and 7 assists. What was really troubling was the fact that Lebron James turned invisible starting from the 9-minute mark of the 4th quarter.
