SINGAPORE SEA GAMES: Ian Clark Bautista Punches Way Into Gold Medal Round!

Analysis: The outcome was never in doubt and Ian Clark Bautista just served notice to Singapore's Mohamed Hamid that winning the gold medal here will be the hardest thing Hamid will ever do in his career. The young Filipino controlled the contest with lightning quick counters, letting the taller Laotian initiate the action then launching cracking counter attacks at the gaps of the Laotian's defense. Thongbang Seuaphom never backed down, and maybe he should have, if only to avoid the thunderous left hook Bautista threw to knock him senseless and out of the bout.

Bautista now faces the Herculean task of winning over the hometown bet. But somehow, I think he'll come out of that match with the gold medal clutched in his glove.

Congratulations, Ian Clark Bautista!
