Pinay Cagebelles Appeal To FIBA-Asia!

All they want to do is play.

That, in a nutshell, is what the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas is saying to FIBA-Asia as they appeal for the inclusion of the Philippine National Women's Basketball Team in the 2011 Fiba-Asia Championships for Women.

The National Women's Team, also known as Discovery Perlas , was not included in the draw for the Level 2 tournament, joining Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Singapore and Sri Lanka at the sidelines.

Discovery Perlas hopes to make the championship, to be held in Nagasaki, Japan, part of their training regimen for the upcoming SEA games in November. But if FIBA-Asia does not reconsider their positions, the national cagebelles may opt to train abroad or host an international tournament.
