PFF Has High Hopes For U-23 Team!

Azkals fever has brought the spotlight to Philippine football. Now, it's time to start prepapring for the future.

The Philippine Football Federation has this in mind as they try to form the strongest possible U-23 squad that can finally capture a football medal of any color in the upcoming Southeast Asian Game.

Dan Palami, the team manager of the Azkals, and other members of the PFF are keeping an eye on standouts from the ongoing PFF Suzuki Cup U-23 championships, who will join other Fil-foreign candidates from abroad as well as current Azkals players for the SEA Games.

The SEA Games team will also be coached by Azkals mentor Michael Weiss and will include seven or eight current Azkals, including 21-year-old Fil-British goalie Neil Etheridge.

The Phl men’s football team has never won a medal in the biennial Games.
