Detroit Pistons Retire Dennis Rodman's Number!

He was known as "The Worm" and "Dennis the Menace".
He was known as an NBA Champion.
Now, he will be known as one of the Detroit Pistons' greatest players.

Dennis Rodman was a rebounding machine and defensive menace who could change a game without taking a single shot.

When he started out with Detroit, the Pistons were loaded with shooters and scorers. Isaiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Vinnie Johnson and Adrian Dantley were all scorers who demanded the ball every trip down the offensive end of the floor.

But the Pistons also had unselfish big men like Bill Laimbeer, Rick Mahorn and James Edwards, tireless rebounders who were content to do the dirty work and let the scorers shine. So when rookies John Salley and Dennis Rodman came in, they had some pretty good role models to learn from.

There's so many layers to Dennis Rodman so today, on Dennis Rodman Night, we'll take a closer look at his remarkable career and personality in small doses.
