Smart Gilas Finally Loses!

First, they lost Marcus Douthit to an ankle injury. then they lost the game in overtime.

The Nationals finally fell to a PBA team, namely the B-Meg Derby Ace, 98-90, in a game where the team with the more dominant big men won.

In the first three quarters, that was Smart Gilas. In the last quarter, it was B-Meg.

Kerby Raymundo (17pts and 12 rebs) and Marc Pingris (18pts and 19rebs) came up big at a time when B-Meg is missing a lot of their core players. In sickbay are former MVP James Yap, Rafi Reavis, Jondan Salvador, Jonas Villanueva, Don Allado and Rico Maierhofer.

Swingman Peter June Simon (20points) also came up big in overtime, scoring on a threepointer and a reverse lay up to finally break the Nationals' heart.

Smart Gilas saw exceptional performances from Mac Baracael (20pts), Chris Tiu (16pts), Marcus Douthit (14pts) and Marcio Lassiter (14pts).
