Bednarik In Hospital!

Charles "Chuck" Bednarik, a Hall of Fame center and nose tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, was taken to a Pennsylvania hospital for medical concerns.

Bednarik, also known as "Concrete Charlie, was the last of the "sixty minute men" football players who played both offense and defense at a time when specialization was already in vogue.

Bednarik was always a devastating tackler, especially after his hit on Frank Gifford which put the star running back out of football for 18 months.

Aside from being in the NFL Hall of Fame, Bednarik was ranked number 54 in the 100 Greatest Football Players list of The Sporting News.  The college football award for defensive player of the year is  also named after Bednarik.

Get well soon, Concrete Charlie!
