Because the winner of this weekend's tie in Cebu between the Philippines and Chinese Taipei gets to stay in Group 1 while the loser drops down to Group 2. And that is something that the Pinoy netters do not want to do, after working so hard to lift the Philippines back to Group 1 after falling to Group 3 a couple of years ago.
