Bynum Suspended, Apologizes!

And the Lakers' woes continue.

Center Andrew Bynum was suspended for five games in the upcoming NBA season and levied a 25,000 dollar fine for his behavior after his ejection in Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinal round against the Dallas Mavericks. This brings to 702,272 dollars the total amount of salary Bynum will lose bacause of the suspension and the fine.

The suspension stemmed from the wayward elbow the 7-foot Bynum threw into the ribs of 5'10" JJ Barea...with the Mavs up 30 and 8 mins left to play. Barea literally flew sideways and writhed on the ground as Bynum then removed his shirt and left in an unapologetic manner, something that carried over to the postgame conference.

Four days later, Bynum was apologizing to Barea in a press conference, saying he reviewed the incident and is now aware how bad it was.

Here's the video of the hit.
