Kobe Bryant Fined $100,000 For Gay Slur!

Just what the Lakers needed to start off the playoffs: a little drama involving Kobe Bryant.

The Lakers superstar was fined $100,000 for uttering a homophobic slur at a referee during their game against the San Antonio Spurs.

The referee that Bryant targeted was Bernie Adams, who just issued a technical foul against Bryant. Bryant countered with a gay slur as he stormed to the bench. The situation escalated as the scene was caught live by cameras.

Bryant immediately issued a statement a day after the game, saying his frustration at the game was at the root of his actions and that his words do not reflect his true sentiments about the gay and lesbian communities.

Gay right organizations are up in arms over the incident and Bryant's character is, once again, in question.

Here's the video.
