El Shaddai Field A No-Go For FIFA!

It's a case of quality over generosity.

And while Philippine football officials appreciate the offer of El Shaddai head Mike Velarde for the PFF to build the Azkals' home field in the El Shaddai property in Sucat, they have decided to target the Philsports Complex in Pasig instead.

Of course, the decision to build the Azkals home stadium in Pasig was not a decision reached by PFF officials alone. They took into account the opinions of FIFA officials who visited the various locations being eyed as the Azkals' home field.

That's because it is actually FIFA who will fund the building of the stadium, with a $500,000 grant. Their main concern over the El Shaddai property is that it is directly in the path of the international airport, therefore planes will be flying over the stadium at all hours.

This led PFF officials back to the Philsports Complex.
