The Cleveland Cavaliers have a new savior and his name is Kyrie Irving.
Irving becomes the third point guard taken with the number 1 pick in the last four years. Derrick Rose and John Wall are the other two.
The Cavaliers also chose Texas forward Tristan Thompson with the fourth pick.
The Minnesota Timberwolves chose Derrick Williams with the second pick, amid rumors that they were shopping for suitors.
The Utah Jazz went international with Enes Kanter, starting a flurry of international picks. Jonas Valanciunas went fifth to the Raptors, after Canada-born Thompson and he was followed by Jan Vesely, who goes to the Wizards.
