Gilas Trips Chinese Taipei!

Two hard games, two wins.

The Gilas National Basketball Team survived the first two days of Jones Cup competitions by notching its second straight win in two days, this time, over host team Chinese Taipei 90-78.

Despite the horrible officiating in favor of the home team, the Nationals were able to controll the tempo of the game with hard, physical defense and superb teamwork, getting points from both the shaded area and from threepoint land.

Gilas also outrebounded the Taiwanese 40-32, with Douthit pulling down 9 and the trio of Dondon Hontiveros, Marcio Lassiter and Mark Barroca pulling down 5 rebounds each.

Marcus Douthit led the Nationals in scoring with 23points, while Japeth Aguilar (12 points) and JV Casio (10points) also contributed.
